The outstanding decoration blends antiques "discovered" on farms and sugar plantations in the region with art and craft works by well-known Northeastern artists. Manary, in the language spoken by the Potiguara Indians who lived in the region, means "The Spirit of Well-Being".

Since the initial stages of the Project, Manary has subscribed to the universal principles of Environmental Conservation and living in harmony with Nature and the Community, in which it is situated. Starting with the careful selection of the land, of building materials, equipment and building methods, everything was thoroughly considered. These precautions resulted in a building which, rather than standing out, blends into the beautiful Ponta Negra beach landscape.

Since 2000, the Manary has subscribed to an updated Environmental Code of Conduct, which was first instituted by the hotels affiliated to the "Roteiros de Charme" Association. This project has been approved by UNEP, the agency responsible for UNESCO's Environmental Policy.
