The building that shelters the Pousada is a colonial building which housed an elementary school in the past and after that a social and cultural club. The building features architecture and ornaments from the colonial time of Brazil. In Paraty everything is near Pousada do Sandi. Paraty is famous for its wonderful food and it can be said that the restaurant at the Pousada is partly responsible for this.
