We will drive to one of the oldest parts of Rio called Cosme Velho, from where we take the train to the Corcovado mountain with the gigantic statue of Christ the Redeemer (2.300ft above sea level). A modern swiss-made cogwheel rail climbs the mountain from its base at 15meters almost to the summit at 710 meters. The trip up takes 17 minutes approximately, at a maximum speed of 15km/h. The trip down takes 22min, at a speed of 12km/h.

Our coach will pick you up from your hotels and take the Rio-Santos road to Itacuruça. There you will board a schooner (locally known as "saveiros"). A tray of tropical fruits will be served on board. A bar is also available on the boat. (Beverages are not included in tour price). The schooner cruises the Sepetiba Bay, an area rich in natural beauty, where it is common for passengers to spot the dolphins, giant king-fishers, parrots, turtles and sting-rays. After stopping for a swim, continue to the island where a delicious lunch buffet will be served. After lunch, there will still be time to explore the island before returning to Itacuruça. The coach returns via Barra, a charming residential area of Rio, America's Avenue and its modern shopping centers and buildings, Ayrton Senna Avenue and Sernambetiba Avenue, where exciting night life resides.

Dinner will be at “Mangue Seco” restaurant, named after a city in Bahia. Here, you can enjoy a local dish from Bahia known as “Muqueca.” In this very Brazilian dish the fish is cooked in coconut milk and served along with rice and farofa (fried manioc flour fried in dendé oil). If you’re not a fan of traditional Brazilian food, then you can have filet mignon or chicken instead.
